Education:
  • Bachelors of the Arts in Biblical Studies from Ohio Valley University

2009-present: I have preached on a part-time basis for the Petroleum, WV congregation for over two years.
Notes: I have a passion for the word and am a firm believer that the Bible's message is clear and simple for everyone and that Christians have a privilege in the ability to study and learn from it and as one who has training, even a degree, in that field I believe I have a duty above that privilege to share that knowledge with others. I am young, so I have much experience ahead of me but I have faith that God is molding me into the servant he needs.
Others will tell you what exactly they believe, but as I have said, I follow the Bible and use God's word as the basis for my beliefs and as such I only teach and follow the Gospel.
I would love the opportunity to be a part of a body of believers who are empowered by the spirit and active in their service to God and their fellow Christians and neighbors.

http://bvchapel.blogspot.com/2010/09/importance-of-prayer-kj-nelson.html
Notes: To whom it may concern, First and foremost I am a Christian. I believe that Christ is the Son of God and that He died for my sins. I have followed the steps that lead to salvation, and I have striven to live the life that Christ expects me to live. It is because of this life that I feel the need to tell others about it. To share the Gospel of Christ is one of my greatest passions and I strive to do the best at this that I possibly can.
The reason I am posting this ad is because I am interested in working with a faithful congregation of the Lord's Body. I will graduate from the Bear Valley Bible Institute in Denver Colorado in December 2011. There I am in the process of being trained for two years, and there I will receive my Bachelor’s degree in Theology. At this school I am being trained how to be the most effective communicator possible. As a student, I am learning the essentials of studying and presenting the Gospel in a way that people can understand it and learn application from it.
If you will allow me to come work with your congregation I believe that I can effectively bring souls to the Lord. Not only will I focus on bringing new people to the Lord, but I will also focus on keeping faithful members of the Lord’s body faithful. This is a problem that we as Christians need to focus on. If you would, please look over my this ad and contact me further if you are interested in having my wife and I come and work for you.
In Our Lord,
K.J. Nelson
Core Beliefs:
The reason for this section of my ad is to let all who read this know up front what I believe the Bible says about certain “hot issues” that are facing the church today. I believe that getting this information out at the front can make things go easier in the future. Please look over my answers on the following issues and contact me with any questions that you may have.
Marriage Divorce and Remarriage: According to Matthew 19:9 the only reason for scriptural remarriage after a divorce is if the divorce was for fornication. Jesus said that the person that is the innocent party is free to remarry. The person that is guilty is not allowed to be remarried. If two people get divorced for any other reason than fornication neither one of the people is allowed to remarry.
Women’s Role: As Paul said in 2 Timothy chapter two women are to remain silent in the assembly. This does not mean that they have to be completely silent. They can sing as commanded elsewhere in the Bible. This does mean that they can in no way exercise authority over a man. They are not permitted to pray in the assembly, nor are they permitted to preach or perform any other duty that places them in authority over men.
Elder’s Role in Relation to Minister: The minister is under the oversight of the eldership just like any other member of a congregation.
Musical Instruments/Hand Clapping: When Paul commanded the early Christians to sing he negated any other form of music. Therefore instrumental music is wrong. The instrument that God intended for man to use in worship to Him is the heart. The command to sing also excludes the clapping of hands. This is an addition to the worship. It is the same as using a percussion instrument.

6/8/2011—Larry Reid
Position Requested: Full-time Gospel Preacher available in Middle Tenn
6926 Rice Road
Baxter, TN 38544
Home phone: (931) 432-5889
E-mail:
Marital Status: Married
Education:
  • Mitchell College, New London, CT 1962-1964
  • Nashville School of Preaching, Nashville, TN (Graduated 1985)
Experience: Since January 1983, I have enjoyed the privilege of preaching for, and working with, some wonderful congregations of the Lord's church; while continuing my full time employment in the computer field. My wife and I have raised four children and been members of the Sycamore church of Christ in Cookeville, Tennessee since 1987. I am a 1985 graduate of the Nashville School of Preaching, then directed by Tom Holland. My experience includes over 22 years of pulpit preachng and teaching adult bible classes, some song leading, counseling, pewpacker's classes, VBS, door knocking, home bible studies, WBS lesson teacher, weddings, funerals, and prison ministry. Now retired from secular work, I would like to continue preaching the gospel of Christ for a congregation located in, or near, Putnam county, Tennessee. I enjoy working with brethren who are interested in reaching the lost, rescuing the erring, helping the needy, growing spiritually, defending the faith, and encouraging one another unto love and good works. Our home is near Cookeville, Tennessee, so we would not need other housing. I would consider working with any size congregation. I consider myself to be a conservative gospel preacher, true to the book, and would welcome any discussion to determine my being grounded in the faith once delivered to the saints. My resume' and references can be supplied upon request. May God bless you in your search for a new preacher.
